Actively and remotely managing electric vehicle performance and range

Abstract
"Often we are faced with implementing one dimensional energy management strategies which do not take into account unforeseeable circumstances or events. Our internal brief was to develop a system where by a vehicle could make autonomous decisions on its performance based on the task ahead of it and the changing inputs it received from the rider / driver and environment.
Our experience of building and racing electric motorcycles has shown that energy management is equally as important as outright speed. This perspective is reflected in the emerging electric vehicle market where range anxiety is a major limiting factor for growth.
Our idea for a system which actively manages the performance of an electric vehicle was born out of our companies’ development activities whilst racing electric motorcycles. "
