Aquaread Cutting Edge Water Quality Testing Probe and Telemetry System

Abstract
Project aim: develop a brand new version of our Aquaprobe that can be permanently
submerged in any body of water for long periods of time, without succumbing to bio fouling,
allowing quality data to be collected. In order to achieve this we will use materials completely
new to the industry, and to utilise cutting edge electronics to prevent bio fouling. We also plan
to develop 12 brand new sensors and to develop our own telemetry system. The telemetry
system will send users data direct to a secure server where they can log on and view data from
anywhere in the world. Aquaread are a small team of 6 highly skilled staff with a diverse set
of backgrounds. We have proven by the successful release of our flag ship products, the
Aquameter & Aquaprobe multiparameter water quality water testing instrument, and by the
fast release of four brand new products in our first year of trading, that we are very capable of
bringing new innovative products effectively to market. We are the only company in the UK
manufacturing this type of instrument. Our products are sold globally via our large distributor
network of 65 companies, we estimate over 90% of our business is export. We intend to
increase our product range to offer both portable probes and probes designed for long term
deployment. Probes designed for long term deployment have to be able to withstand corrosion
and some how be protected from biological growth from organisms such as Algae; known as
biofouling. Biofouling affects all sensors that record data under water for long periods of time,
thus it is a problem for the entire market. Currently there are attempts at cleaning
mechanisms, however it is widely accepted that these are not effective. The combination of
the successful cleaning mechanism, new anti fouling materials, 12 brand new cutting edge
sensors and a 3G telemetric data transmission system, will make this a ground breaking
product which will lead the world in water testing equipment.
