Quality and Freshness Assurance for Dynamic Pricing in the Seafood Supply Chain
Lead Participant:
SAFETYSPECT UK LIMITED
Abstract
**SafetySpect UK, Ltd.** was founded to develop and commercialize advanced optical sensing technologies for applications in food safety, quality, adulteration, and traceability for the UK and European markets. Working with our partners at the Institute for Global Food Security at Queen's University Belfast, we are developing new tools to improve the way seafood is brought to market. Our advanced multi-mode spectral detectors and AI algorithms use optical signatures of chemical fingerprints to verify the species of seafood, its quality, and remaining shelf life. Integrated with a digital platform using blockchain and dynamic pricing technology, these tools will support the modernization of the UK fishing and seafood processing industries and provide accurate information to consumers about the sustainability, freshness, and quality of their seafood purchases.
