WoodFree Fibres for Novel Packaging Materials (WoodFree)
Lead Participant:
WOODFREE LTD
Abstract
The vision of the company is to establish a new wood free paper pulp production facility in the UK, that will use a wood free feedstock. This will help reduce the amount of wood fibre needed to meet the future demands for fibre based products for the packaging sector.
There is a significant waste of this feedstock to be used that is underutilised around the globe. Woodfree believe that this feedstock would be ideal for the production of low cost fibres for a range of applications including packaging materials. The use of this feedstock will help reduce the rates of deforestation around the world, It will therefore help improve habitats for wild animals and reduce global warming,
