PReSense: Privacy-Preserving and Regulation-Aware indoor monitoring sensors
Lead Participant:
NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY
Abstract
PReSense provides the first generation of indoor environment sensors with privacy by design, allowing different privacy settings according to each space while ensuring the relevant data protection regulations are met. Sensors are managed through an intuitive software solution within which privacy settings and data access requests can be configured. PReSence provides the visualisation for a range of metrics related to indoor environment monitoring (e.g., air quality, space usage), therefore enabling the managers of shared space, from homes to large commercial environment, to better monitor their environment while demonstrably respecting user privacy.
