Abstract
Philanthrify is a UK-based blockchain technology SME with a core project team of Tomos Rees (Project Lead), Fergus Cassidy & Arran Clark (Co-Technical Leads) and Benjamin Vimont (Commercial Lead).
Charities are struggling with a global crisis of trust and stagnancy, which is causing a decline in donor support and funding. Unfortunately, many charities only use a small portion of funds raised for actual charitable activities. This has led to a growing distrust of charities and a decrease in donations. This impacts the ability of charities to fund new projects and pay for operating costs. Ultimately, this negatively affects those in need, and charities working to solve global issues.
To address this unmet need, Philanthrify is developing a platform that puts transparency at the forefront of the charity industry and bridges the disconnect between donors and the impact their donations have. Thus, regaining people's trust and levelling the playing field in the industry. By enabling charities to effectively fundraise from various foundations, wealthy philanthropists and masses of people they do not have access to normally, Philanthrify's innovation significantly increases the chances of funding for less well-known but high-quality charities. This will have a profound effect on smaller charities, who will now have a better chance of receiving the funding they need to make a real impact.
Philanthrify's product is unique in that it saves 80%+ of any costs used to hire firms or staff to fundraise full-time, as well as significant development costs for website, impact reporting and media. With the potential to increase donations by up to 50% and reduce the costs of services by 66%, Philanthrify's innovation is set to change the charity industry for the better.
