SMART (Sustainable Mobility via Accessible Routing for two-wheeled Transport) - Beeline
Lead Participant:
RELISH TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED
Abstract
Traffic, infrastructure concerns and perceived lack of safe routes are the biggest barriers to cycling today. Whilst 68% of journeys are under five miles and could be cycled, only 2% of journeys are currently undertaken by bike. Society is therefore missing out on the positive impact that increased cycling could have on health, congestion, air quality and carbon emissions.
This ambitious, disruptive Industrial Research project led by UK-based small company Beeline focusses on mobility solutions to help achieve net-zero living. The project develops tools to enable people to confidently choose low carbon, two-wheeled modes of transport. Project develops tools to empower existing and potential cyclists to confidently and easily tailor journeys to their needs using innovative data visualisation and UI design.
