Lead Research Organisation:
Newcastle University
Department Name: Sch of Engineering
Abstract
The overall aim of this PhD is to investigate and characterise the evolution of molten-salt solid interfaces with different compositions, under a variety of operating conditions. This will encompass characterisation of the molten and solid components of supported molten-salt devices (sorbents, membranes) and testing of new membrane structures under realistic gas separation conditions.
Objective 1: Wetting Characterisation
Objective 2: Solid Support Characterisation
Objective 3: Molten Salt Characterisation
Objective 4: Investigation and Optimisation of Membrane Structures
Objective 5: New Membrane Design for Total Pressure Differences
