Enhancing Cultural Accessibility through AR Technology

Abstract

Our project introduces a groundbreaking Augmented Reality (AR) platform designed to revolutionise the visitor experience in museums and galleries across the UK. By integrating advanced AR access with a custom-built text and voice interface, leveraging the latest Speech-to-Text technologies, our initiative aims to make art, history, and culture more accessible and engaging for everyone. This technology will allow visitors to enjoy real-time language translation and interactive information overlays, directly enhancing their understanding and appreciation of exhibits.

The core of our innovation lies in creating an immersive and inclusive environment where language barriers are removed and the presentation of information is transformed into an interactive, engaging experience. Visitors will be able to access detailed descriptions, historical context, and fascinating narratives about the exhibits they are viewing, all through the convenience of their smartphones or AR headsets.

This project not only supports the growth and sustainability of museums and galleries by attracting a wider audience but also sets a new standard for interactive learning and exploration in cultural institutions. Our commitment is to enhance the educational value of museum visits, making them more memorable and meaningful for people from all walks of life.
