Hydraulic Performance of Natural Flood Management Measures
Lead Research Organisation:
Brunel University London
Department Name: Civil and Environmental Engineering
Abstract
Natural Flood Management (NFM) aims to improve traditional flood risk
management methods by using natural processes. The PhD researcher
will conduct experiments in hydraulic flume facilities at Brunel University
London and field measurements in partnership with a Local Flood
Authority and Non-Profit Organization. Numerical modelling will be
conducted in collaboration with HR Wallingford. This research will
increase understanding of the performance of NFM solutions and will
provide practical recommendations for NFM design.
