Abstract
Walking and hiking are activities that can be enjoyed well into old age and can have a significant benefit for the health and wellness of an elderly person. But often fear of falling or becoming disorientated persuades the elderly to give up outdoor pursuits. DOSSy aims to develop an app and service that will enhance both the enjoyment and safety of outdoor activities by older people. The DOSSy consortium brings together expert organizations in project management, mobile app service development, outdoor information content, and outdoor pursuit communities in UK, Germany, and Switzerland.
