The X-Ray Structure of Functional Materials
Lead Research Organisation:
University of St Andrews
Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
Single Crystal X-ray studies enable accurate 3-D representation of chemical structures to be determined. This project will involve the study and interpretation with respect to chemical, reactivity profiles and materials properties of a wide range of new molecular compounds and solids. Examples include selenium rich systems of interest because of biological activity; catalysts for green synthesis; molecular organic frameworks for use in medicine and gas absorption.
The new systems will be interrogated to establish structure /activity/property relationships.
Training: X-Ray Crystallography
