Surveillance footage in urban Brazil: new dynamics of watching

Abstract
This research project will analyse citizen captured surveillance footage in urban Brazil. I will contribute to emerging literature exploring sousveillance practices by applying this concept to a new corpus of work and to a new region. I will apply insights from Cultural studies, which are underutilised in Surveillance studies, to explore this new dynamic of watching.
