Wireless communications in confined multipath rich environment

Abstract

This is a PhD Research Project in Electrical/electronic engineeering. The aim of the project is to design an IoT wireless communication/sensing system that works in the metallic pipes. Various communication protocols are to be implemented, e.g. WiFi like or LoRa like systems. First step would be on WiFi programmed on USRP to investigate the channel propagation characteristics and optimise the antenna design. Later on, the student will be asked to design a more bespoke system that accommodate various constraints required by the industrial partners.
