Chemical probes to profile tissue microenvironments

Lead Research Organisation: University of Edinburgh
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry

Abstract

Regeneration of tissues is a key process in many disorders, including inflammatory diseases, neurodegeneration and cancer. There is a lack of understanding on how tissue microenvironments are affected by such chemical components as pH, oxygen concentration, metabolite concentration and enzyme activity, and how these determine whether tissue regenerates well or not.
