'How will air pollution and climate change combine to impact future global food supply?'

Lead Research Organisation: University of York
Department Name: Environment

Abstract

My research will initially discuss questions such as:
-What is the importance of nutrition in India in relation to wheat?
-How do climate variables and ozone influence plant mechanisms that lead to damage in plants?
-How is the nutritional content of grains changed due to effects of climate variables and ozone?
-How do crop models currently incorporate N and nutritional modelling?
-How are these models dependent on environmental factors?
in order to inform the development of a robust method/ model of quantifying the impacts of climate variables together with ozone pollution on the nutritional value of crops. I will aim to provide context to this research by discussing the impacts of potential nutritional decrease of wheat on a country self-sufficient on the crop, such as India.
