Neutrino studies with the SBND experiment

Lead Research Organisation: University of Sheffield
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy

Abstract

The project includes simulations of neutrino and cosmic-ray events in the SBND detector which is a near detector for the short-baseline neutrino programme at Fermilab. The student will initially contribute to calibration efforts within the calibration working group and to improvement of reconstruction algorithms. The work will also include analysis of data from the SBND after the detector becomes operational. This will focus on the detector calibration based on the methods developed previously, and on the measurement of neutrino interaction cross-sections.
