Visual Localisation strategies for Robotics and AI
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Surrey
Department Name: Vision Speech and Signal Proc CVSSP
Abstract
The PhD will focus on estimating the position of a camera for robotic applications. The main focus of the PhD will be to increase the capability of Neural Networks to perform absolute pose regression. The student will develop novel Artificial Intelligence (AI) architectures that can leverage information present images and aerial imagery in order to localise cameras within maps. Additionally, the PhD will investigate novel probabilistic methods which can combine AI measurements over time, which will include learned approaches.
