Identification of Bna.IAA7.C05 as allelic gene for dwarf mutant generated from tissue culture in oilseed rape.
in BMC plant biology
| Description | We organised a brassica workshop at the john innes centre and invited 5 representatives from the chinese academy of sciences oilseeds crop research insitute in China in Septembeer 2017. We shard unpublished work and discussed sharing resources and expertise iuncluding sharing seeds, genome sequence information and access to facilities. We attended a follow up meeting in Wuhan in May 2019. At this meeting we signed a joint laboratory agreement, which should enable OCRI-CAAS to apply for more money for UK bilateral meetings in future. We shared updated publications and protocols. |
| Exploitation Route | This has led to a new collaboration between the JIC and CAAS developing new breeding tools for oilseed rape research. the work is funded £100,000 by JIC and will involve further exchange of research personnel. |

| Title | New Brassica transformation method introduced to UK. |
| Description | The method allows us to make transgenic brassica plants, using more varieties and with increased efficiency compared to the previous method was using. This has been transferred to BRACT, the UK crop transformation service, based at JIC. The efficiency is good enough to enable gene editing of brassica crops. |
