Visit to Japan to Promote Polymer-Based Nanotechnology

Abstract

Funds are requested to allow a one month visit to Japan in July 2006 to establish links with groups there working on polymer nanostructures (block copolymers, responsive polymer gels, biopolymers, liquid crystal polymers) as well as groups working with synchrotron x-ray scattering. In addition, I will give seminars on current research activities. Institutions to be visited include University of Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolitan University, Kyoto University and the Japanese sycnhrotron, SPring-8.
