Abstract
Astronomers use telescopes located at the best observing sites throughout the world to pursue their studies. Sometimes the telescopes are operated remotely, or by other astronomers who are resident at an observatory, but often it's necessary to go to the telescopes in person, to make best use of precious observing time.
