Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Technical Summary

Rac is a protein that regulates the function of white blood cells called neutrophils. Rac is activated by a class of enzymes called guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs). Currently, three families of GEFs are known to activate Rac in neutrophils, but it is unknown to which extent they play specific roles, or whether interactions exist between them. The aim of this project is to assess the extent to which GEFs co-operate in neutrophils. Cells deficient in GEFs of one or more families will be compared to cells deficient in Rac.
