IRIS: Expanding Data Lake Access Services at CASU / IRIS hardware allocation grant for FY20 for IoA, Cambridge University

Lead Research Organisation: University of Cambridge
Department Name: Institute of Astronomy

Abstract

To deploy and operate IRIS eInfrastructure for STFC Science Projects, including the National Facilities and Science Programmes

This proposal will allow for a ramp up of the service to provide support to the processing and access of spectroscopic data available at CASU, allowing dynamic and flexible access to both the pixels and objects. The IRIS hardware will support processing and generation of advanced data products and provide some data access (for survey team QA use) via python notebook servers, this allows programmatic access to the data.
