Dynamic nuclear polarisation theory and method development

Lead Research Organisation: University of Nottingham
Department Name: Sch of Physics & Astronomy

Abstract

The project will test laser melting for dissolution-DNP as a method development and focus in the theoretical part on the properties of the radical molecules (the compounds that carry the unpaired electrons). For example looking into density functional calculations to determine the coupling between electrons and nuclei, then attempting to verify these calculations using EPR measurements and run DNP NMR experiments to establish how the DNP efficiency depends on the electronic properties.
