Description Using mass spectrometry techniques, additional information about gut hormones has been uncovered and methods have been developed for previously undetected peptides in blood and cell cultures. The improvement in sensitivity and detection has lead to a better understanding of gut hormone levels in both healthy and disease state individuals - including obese, diabetic and post gastric surgery groups. A
Exploitation Route The project isn't yet complete and I will be in a better position to answer this question at the end of your PhD. But I hope that there is scope for these methods to be applied in clinical settings.
