Lead Research Organisation:
King's College London
Department Name: Computer Science
Abstract
This PhD thesis explores the potential of emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), to deliver effective in-situ parenting support for managing challenging child behaviours. The research investigates parents' current use of digital tools, identifies socio-technical constraints and opportunities for adapting evidence-based parenting strategies into technological solutions, and examines the necessary components for developing effective technology-enabled parenting support systems. Additionally, it explores how Human-Centered AI mechanisms can guide the design of Large Language Model-based systems to support parents with daily challenges.
