Volatile organic compound sensing in healthcare using optical interrogation of metal-organic frameworks

Abstract

Description The first two generations of target materials have been successfully prepared and their adsorption properties have been characterised. Ongoing research includes the formulation of the thin layer of these materials on optical fibres for real-world detection of the target molecules.
Exploitation Route this could potentially benefit future medical research by conducting rapid screening of target bio-markers from breath.
