Abstract
The project will produce: a taxonomy and comparative analysis of different approaches; guidance on choice, design and conduct of PSM in population health research including an accessible toolkit with online training resources. This will be of great value to population health researchers and national and local agencies from multiple sectors, who increasingly use whole systems approaches in the conceptualisation of population health issues but lack accessible and tractable tools and methods to prioritise, design and deliver impactful research.
Technical Summary
To generate methods guidance and an associated implementation toolkit to inform the evidence-based choice, design and conduct of participatory systems mapping (PSM) approaches in population health research.
