Development of Ultra Low Powered Technology for Hands-Free Lone Worker Panic Alert.

Lead Participant: PROTRACK SOLUTIONS LIMITED

Abstract

Lone Worker Protection is a corporate responsibility for all companies under the Corporate Manslaughter act. Protection for staff like nurses and estate agents is usually provided by a BS8484 compliant lone worker device which will automatically connect the worker to an Alarm Response Centre (ARC) when an incident occurs. To date, the way a worker initiates a duress alert is by a physical press-button. For a delivery driver raising a covert alert in this way may not always be practical or safe. Protrack aims to add an innovative hands-free alert initially to empower and protect delivery drivers using their Biostart(tm) theft security solution. The project aims to investigate new hands-free technology and if successful will offer to licence the technology to the lone worker market.
