Talent Radar

Abstract

Within Britain 2.2 million work in the creative industries, 32% are freelance and 64% work in micro businesses which is the creative industry's largest employer group. There are lots of galley style platforms for showcasing creative work and lots of software packages built specifically for recruitment agencies.

Nobody has built a free, direct contact, skills-based recruitment tool that specifically focused on the needs of micro-businesses and NextGen talent, supporting students as they transition from education to industry; the most difficult bridge to cross. The first phase of **Talent Radar** will enable creatives to indicate their availability to the wider market, and to give employers and other opportunity providers a quick frictionless way to connect with them.

The CREATEBritain platform has been embedded into student syllabuses across the UK; for the Southend region we have partnered with South Essex College and the University Centre - South Essex College. Students build profiles on CREATEBritain and specify their creative skills and evidence their expertise. The Talent Radar app will allow them to specify their availability for their areas of expertise. Employers and other opportunity providers will use the Talent Radar app to discover creatives in their region and connect with them.

We plan to disrupt the weak, poor and generalised nature of the recruitment industry in the creative sectors.
