Future of Solids

Lead Participant: FAITH IN NATURE LIMITED

Abstract

For over 40 years, Faith in Nature has made vegan, cruelty free, natural and affordable toiletries which help people to make better choices for themselves and the planet every day. It is our mission to enable people to continue to do this, and as the climate crisis deepens, we recognise that it is our responsibility to further reduce the environmental impact of our products and educate our consumers about what choices they can make to reduce their environmental impact.

Our goals are firstly to reduce the water content in our products, and secondly to decrease the plastic (already mostly recycled) in our packaging through innovative product development. We will promote wider adoption of our zero-waste solid product range, driving behaviour change and extending customer choice.

Through decades of trying to make Nature-positive decisions, Faith in Nature realises that all decisions businesses make have an impact upon the natural world. Yet the one voice not present when making these decisions is Nature's own. So, in August 2022, Faith in Nature became the first business in the world to install a Nature Guardian on its Board of Directors, giving the natural world a voice, and a vote, on all decisions. As such, Faith in Nature is uniquely placed to incorporate Nature as a significant stakeholder in this research, and to include the views of Nature in its decision-making process.
