DIREK LTD
Abstract
With the increasing popularity of Indoor location-based services, deployment of Indoor Positioning Systems (IPS) -as the enabling technology for location-based services- is in full momentum across the globe. DIREK-TR is a novel patented technology for IPS that relies on (only) the inertial sensors that are readily available on smartphones. As opposed to existing solutions, DIREK-TR does not require any infrastructure, customized hardware or training in the environment, giving it the potential to become the most cost-effective and easily scalable solution in the market. PIPS project aims to new technologies that enhance the capabilities of DIREK-TR to meet the market needs and perfrom an initial market validation for potential indoor location based services built based on DIREK-TR solutions.
