Edited Translations of Plays of Ernst Toller with Commentary, Supplementary and Pictoral Material (Volume three)

This research project will produce scholarly and stage-worthy translations of Ernst Toller's post-prison Weimar Republic plays including "Rake Out the Fire", "Blind Goddess", "American Miracles" and the radio play, "Berlin, Latest Edition". As with the previous two volumes, rare photographs and other supplementary material, much of which has never been translated before will accompany the play text, along with critical introductions and performance histories. The project thus, will continue to document theatrical modernisations in the making and provide in English important examples of Toller's major contribution to its development essential tools for understanding contemporary theatre and performance practice.
