Abstract
This research project explores the limits and possibilities of literary critical judgment and, on the basis of a detailed examination of a sequence of encounters between an influential group of recent French writers on literary works (Roland Barthes, Maurice Blanchot, Jacques Derrida) and a number of major literary text (sade, Proust, Genet, Duras, celan), addresses the question of the future of literary criticism.
