Abstract
The project will explore the relationship between image and text in the production of a box set of prints to accompany new translations of the poems of Fernando Pessoa writing as Alberto Caeiro. The prints will attempt to mirror rather than illustrate through a variety of techniques, some new, the ideas and personality of Caeiro, one of the heteronyms invented by Pessoa, I will be collaborating with the translator, Do. M.M.Lisboa (reader in Portuguese at the University of Cambridge) and the printmaker Kip Gresham of The Print Studio Cambridge.
