The Cambridge Introduction to the English Short Story

I am writing a critical introduction to the English short story for Cambridge University Press, exploring the work of pre-eminent writers of the short story in English (excluding the United States) from the mid-Victorian era to the present day. The first of its kind, the book examines stories from several national literatures and considers the development of the form with in a range of cultural and material context of production and reception, including Victorianism, modernism, post modernism, post-colonisation and publishing history.
