Evolution of Optical Blade Tracking Technologies for Helicopters and UAVs
Lead Participant:
HELITUNE LIMITED
Abstract
The primary aim of this 18-month collaborative project is to develop novel real-time image recognition technology that will enable Helitune (a UK-based SME) to stay ahead of its global competitors. We will deliver this through the development of world-leading Optical Blade Tracking capabilities to enable Helicopter and UAV Operators to achieve fast and reliable results across a broad range of day-light flying conditions. Achieving this outcome will enable aircraft operators to increase aircraft reliability and capability, reducing operating costs and improving availability in mission-critical scenarios.
The team, led by Helitune Ltd. (a UK-based SME), includes Leonardo Helicopters, University of Bristol (UoB) and Prosig Ltd.
