Intelligent Scalable Technology Adoption in Cloud Services (i-STAC) Study

Abstract

The i-STAC project is led by AIMES Grid Services and aims to produce next generation of cloud computing infrastructure which is more tailored to the development of the machine-to-machine Internet of Things. The project combines new hardware technologies more suited for energy efficient and configurable private clouds with software components which will provide the more flexible and rapidly scalable services required by the Internet of Things. The market potential for next generation cloud services is growing rapidly and is expected to reach over $25bn by the end of 2013 and this growth will be made possible through the successful development of software components that allow these complex cloud environments to be deployed more easily and more cost effectively.
