Feasibility study for an entirely new manufacturing process for Organic Photovoltaic Devices
Lead Participant:
POLYPHOTONIX LIMITED
Abstract
The project will study the feasability of generating electric current via the photovoltaic effect from free standing, self contained thin polymer films. The project will look to use an entirely novel, "game-changing" manufacturing process that is energy efficient, low cost, fully scaleable and has already seen proof of concept in the manufacture of light emitting thin films based on Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology. Applications of the technology range from local, portable power sources to building integrated power systems.
