OurNet Everywhere (ONE) Feasibility Study
Lead Participant:
AIMES GRID SERVICES COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY
Abstract
The OurNet Everywhere (ONE) Project examines the feasibility of providing a cross platform for new digital services to be provided as part of the roll out of Ofcom's Local Digital Television Programme Services licences. The project will create a demonstrator to illustrate the simultaneous delivery of L-DTPS content across a range of digital devices and provide new tools for collaborative content creation. The ONE platform will be deployed to a pilot group of previously digitally excluded users and will innovate a new business model based upon micro revenues generated through user transactions. The project partners, AIMES Grid Services and Bay TV Liverpool have bid for the L-DTPS licence in Liverpool and if successful the ONE cross platform would be made available to licence holders in each of the 21 city regions announced in tranche 1. The ONE Project has the potential to have a transformational impact on the cross platform deployment and commercial viability of L-DTPS.
