Resonant sensing, a novel form of DNA detection for low-cost highly informative tests; construction of an assay for multidrug resistant TB and bovine TB

Lead Participant: ENIGMA DIAGNOSTICS LIMITED

Abstract

This project will test feasibility that a novel and proprietary fluorescent probing system can be used to detect and characterise a multitude of different mutations in a PCR amplicon, using the identification of Rifampicin resistant tuberculosis as a model system. If successful the technology will be applicable to a range of PCR applications where multiple mutations need to be analysed in a single closed tube assay. Notable applications are antimicrobial/antiviral resistance investigations in infectious agents, and patient stratification for companion diagnostics.
