Abstract
The project will undertake a feasibility study on examining the opportunity and specification for incorporating Distributed Storage, DC systems (lighting/electronics) into a major mixed use development in central london planned for build in 2014. The development offers opportunities exist for improving how site level CHP systems could be leveraged and provide better balancing and services across the site for electricity. The project will deliver site level schemas, and specification/designs for incorporating integrated technology into buildings, apartment units, hotel units and commercial office space, and make the case for the development to include such technologies to create a major london showcase of emergent best practice in decentralized power systems, resilience and carbon saving possible in new build developments.
