SingleReality - tomorrow’s VR on today’s devices.

SingleReality is a binoculars-sized viewing device. It gives ordinary 2D content increased apparent size, clarity and depth. This project miniaturised a large form factor lab bench based optical prototype into two smaller optical units. To reduce the optical path length, novel optical engineering techniques were used including a custom-designed X-cube beam splitter. An inverting mirror array was also implemented, which resulted in GB patent application GB1808700.7 The project has excellent traction in securing a manufacturing route to market, with licenses anticipated in medical and military industry verticals, with more to follow.
