Assessing the market for a novel infection control wipe (Marker Wipe)

Abstract

The Nonwovens Innovation & Research Institute Ltd. has been successfully innovating and
developing new textile products and processes since 2005, and the company now has a
number of key patents and applications related to technologies in the textiles industry.
Following consultation with health care professionals, NIRI has identified a potential demand
for a new type of infection control wet wipe.
This project will assess the extent of global market acceptability of the new wipe technology
and determine commercially-realistic cost parameters. Outcomes will be delivered by deskbased
research and interviews targeted at various stakeholder groups, establishment of the
intellectual property position, determination of the best route to market, design
conceptualisation, and the delivery of a draft plan for developing and commercialising the
technology
