Aero Hoist
Lead Participant:
KINGKRAFT LIMITED
Abstract
The aim of the project is to develop a lightweight mobile hoist for the moving and handling of
disabled, elderly and infirm people. The hoist is to be light weight and easily foldable
allowing disabled people and their carers/parents greater freedom and ease when travelling
within the UK and abroad.
The hoist will be lighter than all the other mobile hoists on the market with particular attention
paid to making it easy to assemble and disassemble. The lifting range of the hoist will be
achieved by an innovative new mechanism which is not seen on any other mobile hoist. There
will be a focus on improving the aesthetic qualities of the hoist to ensure that it does not look
like an ‘institutional’ piece of equipment. This will be achieved through tube profiles, design
features and material finishes.
