Impact | The work of the JISC underpins many aspects of the digital infrastructure for education and research in the UK. Through my membership of the JISC Collections Advisory Group I have been able to help shape the provision of digital resources within higher and further education. I have also contributed in other ways to the development of the JICS's contribution to digital infrastructure e.g. by participating in sessions at their annual Digest event and by participating in the JISC Discovery summit 2013. |

PI Contribution | With Charles Henry of the Council for Library and Information Resources, I gave a joint workshop at Bates College on digital humanities in 2013. This led to participation in a major joint research project around 'The Learned Clerk', considering parallels and contrasts between pre-print scribal cultures and current digital transformations. Outcomes of this collaboration include a conference at Bates College in 2015, special issue of 'Archives Journal' and sessions at the International Medieval Congress at Western Michigan University 2016 and the Leeds International Medieval Conference 2016. |

It redefined the parameters of 'hack' and 'yack'. |

Results and Impact | The Digital Design Weekend is an annual event organised by the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the London Design Festival, which showcases a wide range of digital, making and craft activities for the general public. Partners include the Met Office, British Council, Digital Catapult, London Zoo and others. This is a major public engagement activity which attracts annually thousands of visitors. Through my fellowship, we have displayed projects from the Digital Transformations theme at the Digital Design Weekends in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and have also supported the production of publications for distribution to those attending the event. |
