Description | This award has enabled interactions with Colleagues at Embrapa. As a direct result of the networking activities organised at Embrapa Trigo joint BBSRC/Embrapa projects have been funded to study abiotic stresses. A workshop on 'Crop Improvement' was held in Uberlândia/MG - Brazil in June 2016. This enabled 13 UK researchers most of whom were early career to network with researchers from several Embrapa units and interact with local farmers; these interactions have directly led to new joint research grant applications. |
Exploitation Route | The networking activities can be broadened to encompass other academic and industrial partners in the UK and Brazil |
Sectors | Agriculture, Food and Drink |
Description | The field visit during the workshop on 'Crop Improvement' was held in Uberlândia/MG - Brazil in June 2016 enabled local farmers to gain an understanding from the assembled UK and Brazilian researchers of genetic and agronomic approaches that could be used to diversify crop rotations and increase profitability. |
