Draft Genome Sequence of the Strawberry Anthracnose Pathogen Colletotrichum fructicola.
in Microbiology resource announcements
Description | As part of our work we collaboratively sequenced the agent of strawberry anthacnose in China, which has led to a publication in press: "Draft genome of the strawberry anthracnose pathogen Colletotrichum fructicola" This will help in future collaborative research to understand the mechanism of infection. |
Exploitation Route | The genome output will be useful in taking forward further study of isolate-variation in China and globally. The workshops we held on new breeding approaches will be useful for the Chinese in developing their strawberry breeding programmes. |
Sectors | Agriculture Food and Drink |
Description | UK- China Workshop (October 2016) on genetic mapping, pathogen effector biology and genomics |
Form Of Engagement Activity | Participation in an activity, workshop or similar |
Part Of Official Scheme? | No |
Geographic Reach | International |
Primary Audience | Professional Practitioners |
Results and Impact | Eight people from NIAB EMR visited SAAS, Shanghai as part of the UK- China partnering award to present our research, conduct an interactive workshop on genetic mapping and exchange ideas in informatics and pathology to combat the disease Colletotrichum gloeosporoides. |
Year(s) Of Engagement Activity | 2016 |
