| Description | The UK has hosted a delegation of scientists from the National Defense Medical Centre in Taiwan (June 2018). During this visit mutually interesting research was presented discussion about collaborative ventures initiated. A UK delegation from The Pirbright Institute, including influenza virologists, genetics and genomics specialists and a bioinformatician travelled to Taiwan in March 2019. Links were made with the Taiwan hosts from the National Defence Medical Centre and local Taipei universities that work on influenza viruses. UK delegates presented keynote presentations at an influenza virus symposium held at the Main hospital in Taipei during the visit. In December 2019 the Pirbright Institute hosted a visit from junior scientists seeking Taiwan government funded PhD studentship abroad. |
| Exploitation Route | We will form good collaborative links with researchers in Taiwan where they have endemic poultry infection by avian influenza viruses unlike the UK. |
