Results and Impact | The CarbonRecyclingNIBB teamed up with another BBSRC NIBB: BBNet to organise an International Mission to The Biozone, University of Toronto, Canada 2nd - 3rd October 2023 supported by additional BBSRC International Mission Award funding to Minton (Nottingham) and Gomez (York). Delegates were: BioZone: Prof Elizabeth Edwards, Prof Emma Master, Prof Krishna Mahadevan, Dr Christopher Lawson, Prof Grant Allen, Dr Jordan Wosnick. CRNet: Prof Nigel Minton, Dr Klaus Winzer, Dr Katalin Kovacs, Dr Alan Burbidge. BBNet: Neil Bruce, Leo Gomez. Industry: Prof Philippe Soucaille (Metabolic Explorer), Dr Deborah Rathbone (Biorenewables Development Centre). Key outcomes were (i) clarity on complementary expertise available from each of the delegates (ii) plans for reciprocal exchanges of ECRs between Toronto and York in chitinase research, (iii) exploring collaborative funding opportunities including leveraging Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) with UKRI funding (iv) supporting exchange of PIs through allied BBSRC funding. |
